Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a collaborative, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthier coping strategies. Through guided conversations in a supportive, nonjudgmental setting, patients can explore challenges, gain insight, and learn practical skills for lasting change. Whether addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship concerns, psychotherapy empowers people to improve emotional well-being, strengthen resilience, and build a more fulfilling, balanced life. We’re proud to offer psychotherapy in a warm, supportive, educational, and empathic atmosphere.

Spravato

Spravato (esketamine) is a prescription nasal spray that offers a breakthrough approach in the treatment of depression, specifically for individuals with treatment-resistant depression or depression that causes suicidal ideations. It is a novel medication that works differently from traditional antidepressants, providing a fast-acting alternative for patients who have not found relief from standard therapies.

Ketamine

Intravenous and Intramuscular Ketamine treatments are an innovative option for individuals with severe or treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, and/or PTSD. These treatments can offer rapid symptom relief by acting on glutamate pathways rather than the slower serotonin-based mechanisms of traditional antidepressants. This unique approach can help “reset” neural connections and promote neuronal growth, often improving mood, reducing suicidal thoughts, and restoring emotional flexibility within hours to days. Backed by growing clinical evidence,
ketamine provides new hope for patients who haven’t found success with standard therapies. At Phoenix Mental Health, our team provides safe, monitored ketamine sessions designed to support healing, improve mood, and help patients move toward lasting wellness.

ECT Treatment

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a procedure used to treat severe depression, bipolar disorder, catatonia and many other mental health disorders when traditional treatments have failed. It involves brief electrical stimulation of the brain under anesthesia and is considered one of the most effective options for treatment-resistant conditions. Learn more and see if ECT treatment is right for you!

Advanced Deep TMS Treatment

Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) represents a forefront, non-surgical therapy that has been scientifically validated for treating severe depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder in individuals who have not seen improvements with traditional treatments like antidepressants and/or psychotherapy. Offered exclusively through Brainsway, Deep TMS is recognized for its superior efficacy over conventional TMS methods, as evidenced by comparative clinical research.

In the News

The journey through mental health challenges is deeply personal, something Dr. Johnston understands from personal experience with anxiety. Mental health concerns often feel like a private war, with pervasive thoughts that something within us is fundamentally flawed. In moments of solitude, these thoughts can be particularly daunting;

“If this part of my brain isn’t working, what else in my brain isn’t working?”

Dr. Nathan Johnston, fighting mental illness head on.
